Peek-a-boo

An 8 month old Ava...

is one that is crawling everywhere (and super quick), pulling up on things and starting to move around what she has pulled up on, is constantly jibber-jabbering and making noise, is speeding around in her walker, is trying to eat solid foods (but hating them), and is just a mess!

Sorry there haven't been any posts this week, but I have been unusually busy these past few weeks getting ready for our faculty talent show. But as of Friday, thank God it's over! We have been planning since right after Christmas and practicing after school for the last few weeks. SO after much stress and mood swings, it is over and it was a success. What did I do you ask? Well, I showed that white people just don't have much rhythm on the faculty step team, I was a poodle skirt girl in the Fashion Through the Decades, I was a zombie in a remake of the Thriller Video (complete with dance moves!) and last but not least, I shook a huge stuffed butt in a music medley to the song, Baby Got Back, which as you can imagine was a huge hit! It was entertaining and great and I can't wait to see it on video. Big thanks to Anne for watching Ava longer in the afternoons while I was in rehearsals.

Anyway, things are great and we are enjoying Spring now that it is warmer. Pop came and put up a swing for Ava today and I am sure once she gets used to it, she will love it. Today it was a little startling for her, but I think she will get used to it really quickly.

I will try to get some new videos up later this week because I have some cute ones! Have a great weekend!

Baby Bling

Her Daddy may hate it, but for Ava who is obsessed with messing with peoples rings, watches, and other sparklies, what more could she need than Baby BLING!

Random Pics and another video

Here are some random pics from last weekend (Easter) and I am also going to try to post another video. I know several of you have had a hard time opening the other video and I don't really know why. Bradley says that maybe it has to do with traffic on the you tube site, but I don't know. So I will try it again and see what happens.

Easter Church Services and Family Photos

On Easter Sunday, we went with Pop (Joe) to his church and Nana and Aunt Bethany went too. We are in between churches right now and decided to go there for Easter services. Ava was a little fussy about halfway through the service, but passed out while drinking a bottle of juice.

After church, it was time for a great lunch at Mom's Buffet. Yummy, homecooked food. The cabbage and cornbread are my fave.

Then what family outing isn't a great time for photo ops? Even though it was so cold, we went outside to take Easter pictures.



We very well couldn't let Ava hunt eggs outside because of the cold weather, so we set up a little hunt inside. Which was basically me just hiding 5 eggs (or laying them on the floor) and let her pick them up. She went after them though. She may not have been a master egg hunter at the public Easter Egg Hunt, but in our parlor, she was a Master Egg Finder! (Personally, I think it's because a good basket makes all the difference, and this Hello Kitty basket was just too great for her to not hunt well!) By the way, if you are wondering why she was in her bloomers, it was because she was getting her dress dirty scooting all over the floor.

I am toying around with YouTube.com trying to figure out how to uplaod videos. The first one I tried was too big of a file, but this one worked. I hope it turns out okay. It is of Ava laughing at Squiggles.

Ava's Easter Gifts

Thank you to all who gave Ava Easter gifts. Besides the gifts from the Easter Bunny, this is what she got.

Ava's First Easter

At around 8 on Sunday morning, Ava, Bradley, and I went downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny had brought. Man, what a nice bunny! Ava got tons of stuff from him, I guess because she laughed so hard at him! Mommy must have been nice to because he brought her a huge basket. Daddy also got some gifts from the big bunny, but declined a picture. And of course, like most children, Ava enjoyed the cellophane wrapper better than the basket itself! Stay tuned for the next installment of the "Easter Spectacular!" (That means, I just really enjoyed Easter with Ava!)
