Thanks to Aunt Bethany for letting me download her pics. She is also the one who bought Ava this fun pool. These were taken on Ava's birthday during her first pool swim.
You can see that even in a pool, she still loves her paci!Tuesday, September 04, 2007

Ava's Fort
These pics are from a couple of weeks ago. Ava had been into everything and her Nana had been trying anything to keep her entertained. So she built her a fort. It is still set up in our parlor which we are getting ready to convert into Ava's playroom. The other pics are from Ava crawling into the dog bed and then a couple from after church a few Sundays ago.
Hope you had a great weekend and Labor Day. Have a great week!

Rogers' Family Reunion
Today was the annual Rogers' Family Reunion. Bradley and I switch reunions every other year and this year was his year. His family meets at Reelfoot Lake and eats lunch at Boyette's. After that, we always head over to Aunt Mary's house for dessert. This year was the first year Ava attended the reunion and she was antsy. Since she has started walking, she is so independent and just wants to get down and run around. She was getting fussy so we left the lunch early and took a stroll around Reelfoot Lake. If you have never been, it is a very beautiful place. It was definitely hot today and the water level was very low, but it was still pretty. It was Ava's first time there and she just kept looking around taking it all in. After a walk around the dock, we went into the museum to cool off and they had an owl in there. Ava just kept looking at him but was very unsure. She was really cute though!
After that, we headed to Aunt Mary's who had some delicious homemade banana pudding and Ava just went wild for it. She was like a little dog running from person to person begging for pudding. She slept most of the way home and then I laid down on the couch for a nap and she laid on Daddy for a nap.
This upcoming week will be extremely busy because it is fair week. Bradley will be working most nights at the fair booth, so I am not sure how much blogging will be done. I am hoping to catch up on some older pics and the remaining birthday pics. No promises though because I will pretty much be a single mom this week. Anyway, have a great Labor Day!

Ava, AKA the Tupperware Bandit
Ava is obsessed with getting into drawers and removing all the items in them. One of her favorite drawers is the kitchen Tupperware drawer. She loves the bowls (as you can tell from the earlier movie) and just carries them around all over the house. She she is rummaging through the drawer.

Sassy Chick - The shirt says it all!

Keeping us busy
As you can see from Ava's videos, she is really keeping us busy. She is constantly on the go and into everything. Her newest thing us running with her eyes shut. So far, she has ran into the couch, the wall, and the aquarium, which sadly was taken down last night and moved out to the garage. She has also started saying No when she is not happy, except it comes out as, "Non, Non," and it is so cute! She has been going into the nursery at church and playing with a couple of boys there and just having a ball. She has also been playing with one of the helpers in the nursery, an 8th grade girl who Ava is just having a ball with.
All in all, she is so much fun, but can be very frustrating. She definitely pushes the limits here. But I wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything in the world!
Here are some pics of the mischievous girl, taken by Nana when she opened her new container of puffs. This is starting to be a trend since she has done it before!

3 more Ava movies
Here are the last 3 Ava movies that I will be posting for a little while. It takes so long to download a movie, but they are just too cute not to.
The first one better make you grandparents appreciate those plaster handprints because this is what we go through to get one.
This one is of Ava's 2nd 1st birthday cake. If that makes sense! It was on her actual birthday and one of her faves, Veggie Tales.
And this final one is just hilarious. You all know Ava's obsession with drawers and she loves taking Tupperware from the kitchen drawers and carrying it around. Her she is playing with a bowl. So funny!

Ava in the pool
Here ia a movie of Ava and Aunt Bethany playing while Ava's in the pool. Ava didn't like the pool at first, but she quickly warmed up to it!
Video from Ava's Birthday Party
Here is a video of everyone singing Happy Birthday to Ava at her birthday party.

Ava's actual birthday
August 13th was Ava's actual birthday. I didn't take very many pictures, but Bethany did. She is bringing her camera and memory cards on Labor Day for us to download so I will add more as soon as I get those downloaded. I was just so busy taking care of Ava and doing things that I didn't get many pictures. Bradley was bust with the camcorder so he couldn't take pictures.
Anyway, it was a great birthday. We started the day by going to Wal-Mart and having Ava's pictures made (which you already saw). After that, we headed to Union City to the McDonald's Playland which is not intended for children under 3. Since there were no other kids there, I decided to take Ava down the slide. Big mistake! Once you get so high up in there, you have to go down the slide. We were stuck in a tunnel and Ava started crying, and I was about to cry to. It was scary, but we made it down and Bethany caught it on camera. Like I said, I will post those after Labor Day.
After that, Bethany wanted to buy Ava a pool so we went to Wal-Mart got a pool and Ava went swimming. She cried at first and I had to get in (fully clothed) with her. She warmed up to it pretty quick and had a great time splashing around (and looking cute in her swimsuit!).
Nana, Pop, and Aunt Bethany came over for a supper of leftovers from Ava's big party, and then it was time for presents and cake. All in all, it was a fun, but tiring day. And now my baby has been 1 for a week! Man, time flies!
