A couple of weeks ago I took Ava into town for Dr. Seuss's Birthday/Read Across America Day. The library hosted an event where children could go to various locations downtown and hear different people read books. I was relieved to see another teacher and her son and daughter there. It turns out that Ava and her little girl are close in age and they hit it off. I find it amazing how after five minutes they were instant best buddies. It is just amazing how fast little ones can make a friend. We started off at the "party" where Ava refused to get her face painted and then headed to the library for some reading. Ava did okay for the first couple of stories, but once a long one came along, she was done. I was proud of her though. She enjoyed the party, but was disappointed that they didn't have birthday cake!

The best toy ever!
I mentioned that Harrison discovered his feet recently. And let me tell you, now that he knows where they are, he wants them all the time!

This is the face of a true drama queen...
Seriously. High Drama. All. the. time.
This is Ava one afternoon when she was banished to the time out area. I don't recall what it was for. It was probably for one of the following. Or a combination of the following: sticking her tongue out, mocking you, screaming, squealing, making a hateful face, being a smart mouth, throwing things, jumping over Harrison, talking back, saying "No you don't!", not picking up her messes, or just general spitefulness. It's a daily occurrence here. And God bless Nana who keeps this little drama queen because I know what a spitfire she is and I know she can be a handful. But on the other hand, she can be so sweet...
And I love how her hair looks "emo" here...

Ava's Fall Photo Shoot
I don't think that I have ever posted these here. These were taken of Ava back in the fall before Harrison was born. We took one afternoon and went to do a mini-shoot. I absolutely love how they turned out and I plan on ordering some of these for one of my walls.

Ch, Ch, Changes....
Lots of changes in the Rogers' house over the last couple of weeks. Harrison celebrated his 100 Day Birthday, he started rolling over (both ways), he discovered his hands and that can be useful to grab and bat at things, he discovered his feet, and he discovered that said feet taste mighty delicious! Lots happening there.
On the Ava front, she has been a total bookworm lately and loves to read to you. It warms my heart to see a little one who loves to read. She has cracked me up telling me about the "Cow-yote!" that her friend, Luke, saw in his yard. She has spring fever in a big way (don't we all!). She has been an ice skater, a dancer, a singer, a cook, a mommy, a doctor, and a wild animal.
We have been couch potatoes who watched a million hours of the Olympics, fast forwarded through The Bachelor, broke off our relationship with American Idol, are loving Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, and spend way to much time watching the boob tube! We have made tons of new recipes lately and my waistline is showing it! But it has been good! Ava and I attended a birthday party for Dr. Seuss and threw a party for Harrison's first 100 days.
It has been busy and I am ready for some calm. Only 1 week and 2 days until we are out of school for spring break. We are getting less time due to snow and I can hardly wait for a break! I am hoping for beautiful weather and time to love on my babies!
P.S. I know the blog has had lots of Harrison lately, but I will be adding some more of Ava soon!

Just some recent shots
Here are just a few random photos from around our house lately.
She loves playing games; even by herself.

First Cereal
With Ava I waited the doctor recommended 4 months, but I caved with Harrison and we started cereal at 2 and 1/2 months. He's just such a big boy and I felt that he was ready. He has done a fantastic job. Some nights I can't get it in his mouth quick enough for him. He has had cereal every night since last Friday and each night he gets a little better with it. He is so interested in other people with food that I know he is longing for something else, but right now, we are sticking with just the cereal!

In just 3 months...
It is amazing how much things can change over three short months. In just three short months:
- my love has grown and doubled from one child to two
- we have become a family of 4
- this adorable little boy has stolen my heart with his beautiful brown eyes and sweet smile
- he and his sister have become almost inseparable
- I have stayed busier than I ever thought possible
- I already miss having a "newborn"
- we have went through thousands of diapers (literally....)
- we have become recluses because I don't want my children to get the flu
- I have been more blessed than words can express....
Happy 3 month birthday, Harrison!

Harrison's Inner Baby Dialogue
Here is the conversation that I imagine is taking place in Harrison's head as he watched himself in the mirror.
Scene 1 - "Hmmmmm, interesting... who's that baby?"
