Ava - Craft/Egg Hunt at School

On Wednesday, Ava's preschool class had a parent workshop and egg hunt. For this workshop we made bunny ears and then had an egg hunt afterwards. Ava was worried she wouldn't get any eggs, but she came back with quite a haul of eggs. I was very proud when a little girl in her class was crying because she didn't get many eggs and Ava agreed to give her 3 of hers (which for Ava that was a big sacrifice in the sharing department). I guess that made her feel good because she gave a few more to another little boy in class who didn't have many.



After the workshop she spent the rest of the day with me at school and she always has a fantastic time doing that. My students get a kick out of her and she spends a lot of time working. We spent of my downtime working on reading. She is in such a hurry to learn to read. She tries very hard and I think she will be an early reader.

Top that day off with an egg hunt with her class at church and Ava had a spectacular day!

Harrison - Anatomy of a Little Boy

At almost 17 months old, Harrison is all boy, all the time (with the exception of liking to wear Ava's tiaras, tutus, and glass slippers). Here are some recent pictures of his all boyishness.

Rock Star Day

Ava dressed up for "Rock Star Day" at school to "rock into TCAP." Tcap is our end of the year testing in TN. The preschoolers don't test, but they get to participate in the fun stuff. Ava wore her sparkly peace shirt, her pink hat, a black tutu pettiskirt over jeans, and her satin ruby slippers. Styling and profiling!

(Not too sure what was up with the leaf that day...)

10 on Tuesday - Ava- Soccer

1. Poor neglected blog. Lately I have just been too tired to add much and my camera has not even been out as much.... Anyways...
   


2. The countdown to the end of school is on.... 31 days left for students! Yay!


3. Ava's dance recital date is quickly approaching. She will perform on the morning of May 21st.
   


4. We had our second soccer game on Saturday. It was cold and rainy and we were shocked it wasn't cancelled. Ava was bummed because she wanted to play goalie the whole time and only got to play it for one quarter. So that made her mad and she really didn't try very hard for the rest of the game. Pair that with the mud she wanted to play in and how cold her hands were, and it was a pretty lackluster performance on her part.

She did stop one from going into the goal.

Most of the game she just randomly walked behind the rest of the pack...

5. I just finished up another class for my masters and started another one. I am halfway there and I will finish up the day before Harrison's birthday. Trying to keep my eyes on the prize because I am sooooo burnt out.


6. Harrison started at a new babysitter yesterday. He will be staying with her while Nana is in Nashville with Aunt Bethany. He seemed to do very well and I loved that smile when I came in to pick him up.

7. Aunt Bethany and Lester had their baby yesterday and Ava is soooo excited about her new cousin.

8. Ava is excited about Easter this weekend. She has been asking every morning for two weeks if today is the day. Tomorrow her classroom is having an egg hunt and she reminds me everyday that she has to take her Easter basket on that day.

9. Harrison is gaining words everyday. He loves to say: Mama, Dada, Ada, truck, ball, pee-pee, poo-poo, NO, Pop (almost everytime he sees a gray truck), and uh-huh (for yes). Love hearing all his daily words, but these are the ones we hear the most.


10. That's about all I have...watching the storms moving in as I finish this up... :(

When did this happen?

When did my daughter become the daughter that hides her face from the camera? We have always battled over me taking her picture and the crazy expressions she gives me, but when did she become the teenager who hides behind her hands? I just know that we have a rough road ahead and that attitude will only get more fierce...but I love her anyway. :)

Bradley is so embarrassed by this car, but it keeps them occupied while shopping. The downfall: at the end when the car must be abandoned there are usually lots of cries and screams which does cause quite the spectacle!

Soccer - Ava's First Game

I am officially a soccer mom! The only sport Bradley would tell my pregnant belly that Ava should never play. And she loves it!

They had their first game this past Saturday. Ava is on the light orange team which has about 11 kiddos on the team. They play on Saturday mornings for the next month and a half. Of course we have struggled with dance and cheer (even though Ava LOVES them), but with soccer, she is doing fantastic. She is out there and having a blast.

She was super-pumped to score the first goal and she even got to play goalie, which she loves. Unfortunately for her, the yellow team never made it near our goal, so most of that goalie time was spent examining the ground. So funny to watch. I loved watching her play and it was so fun to see the excitement on her face.
