Just wondering....

  • Is this our last weekend as a family of three?

  • How will Ava react to her baby brother when he does arrive?

  • Will he come before Thanksgiving or will Christmas be his first official holiday?

  • What will he look like?

  • How long until I get a peaceful night's sleep again?

  • How many new adventures our family will have...

Photo from Opening Night at McDonald's

For months Ava has talked about our new McDonald's that is about a mile away from our house. Bradley relented and took us on opening night. In true McDonald's fashion we had to pull up to wait for our order. We joked that we might get a free gift for going on opening night, and we did: two extra straws. lol

Anyway, here is a quote from Ava as we were waiting in the drive-thru:

We are in line at the opening of McDonald's in Newbern and Ava just said,"Wow, how did they do this?" The allure of McD's! (taken from my twitter above)

And here she is while we were waiting on our food. She is happy as a lark to be getting McDonald's! (picture taken with camera phone)

Playing in the Leaves

Ava has been talking about having a weenie roast since every time we planned to have it things hadn't worked out. She was very intrigued with roasting hot dogs and making s'mores. So on Saturday we decided to go ahead and have a weenie roast and invite Nana and Pop over. We have had so much rain that we weren't worried about it being too dry, but by this time of year our yard is COVERED by leaves so Bradley went ahead and did a little clean up before we had the roast. It was a gorgeous day so it was the perfect time to let Ava play in a leaf pile. She loved kicking the leaves around, but was very concerned by Daddy on the mower chopping them up. She started freaking out because she thought they would all be gone. She started throwing leaves in my lap to protect them from "Daddy's tractor." He did rake her a pile that she ran through several times, but her favorite thing to do was smack them around with a stick.

See this look: this is the look when Daddy drove into the yard on his "tractor."

Love, love, love this picture!
