Daily Happening - Day 5

I can't believe that my Fall Break is already half over. Man how time flies! Today was a busy day because it was Arts and Crafts Day at Reelfoot Lake. Ava stayed with her Nana while Stacy, Bethany, and I went to the Arts and Crafts show. We were pumped because for once it fell on a time when we were out of school on Friday so we could go the first day. It was crowded, but nothing like what it normally is on Saturday when about 40-50,000 swarm in. It was a little disappointing because it didn't seem as big as usual, but Stacy also pointed out that it was also not as crowded so we got through looking a little faster. Aside from food purchases, Stacy bought a painted gourd and a cake dish, I bought a painted gourd, a huge painted skeleton, 3 hair bows for Ava , and a cute headband, and Bethany bought nothing. Towards the end we were just hot and ready to go. We went to lunch at Dairy Queen (which we don't really have in Dyersburg, because in my opinion it's not a really Dairy Queen), and then stopped at a yard sale and consignment shop on the way home where I bought Ava a Noah's Ark Little People set and some knock off Ugg boots.

Ava stayed with her Nana while we were out crafting. She is feeling much better. Still very snotty, but at least it's coming out. I think she'll make a full recovery in no time (keep those fingers crossed). ;)

Bradley brought some Arby's home and we chowed down and then hung out for a while in Ava's play corner. I tell you what, for Bradley not have wanted to put the play area there, for the last 2 days we have basically hung out in that room with Ava and it has become the gathering spot. It's a very social place!

So anyway, I didn't take many pictures for today, but I took a couple of Ava in her car seat which we had temporarily taken out in case we needed tons of room for all the crafts we bought and when I brought it in, she was all over it. There are some of her in her boots (and yes she never got out of her nightgown today because she wasn't feeling well). Also my newest Halloween additions are pictured. Stop back later for pictures from tomorrow! Have a great weekend!

Check out this poor snotty nosed kid!

Don't be jealous of my new man Franklin! He was only $5 and on Clearance (I'm sure we can see why, but I love him!).

Daily Happenings - Day 4

We are working on beating the cold. Ava is in a good mood, but hates having her noses wiped or facing the snot sucker. It is just so runny and when she sneezes, I have never seen projectile snot like this kid has. But she is in good spirits, not eating very good because she is so stuffy, but drinking good and playing hard. She is in her room with Daddy right now while Mommy gets a little break. Of course he is using her TV to watch football or baseball or some nonsense. Anyway, not a lot to report today. Some good napping, lots of clinginess, and lots of napkins and Kleenex used. Here are some photos:

How many of the Rogers family can catch a cold?

Over the past couple of days, I have been battling the cold. Just stuffy nose basically. I knew eventually it would spread elsewhere and the who was answered last night at around 10:30 when Brad says, "Ava's crying." I knew what that meant, the cold had struck it's next victim. Poor baby girl was so stopped up I had to get out the Dimetap (sp?) and the dreaded snot sucker. She was so tired she fell asleep in my lap downstairs, but through the night I would wake up and hear her sniff or cough a little bit.

So this morning at 7:30 when I got her out of bed her little face was so crusty with snot. Daddy was calling her a dirty baby with a dirty face. Once again it was snot sucker time and Dimetap time. Anyway, she is running just a slight fever and now every time she sneezes and huge string on snot slides down her face. She is eating good, not drinking so good, but acting like she feels pretty normal. A little clingy, but not too bad. So we have just been playing and cuddling and now she is watching Jack's Big Music Show and hanging out.

I have taken several pictures already today of us playing. Like I promised, her are some Halloween pics from our house and I while post my daily something of Ava closer to bedtime. I also have pics of her finished play area (while it's still neat and organized). Anyway, happy day and Bethany be careful on your way home!

This stack of pumpkins was a gift from my mom last year.
You can't tell really good, but the tree has some cool purple lights on it.

My villains snowglobe that Bradley bought me after our trip to Disney World in 2003.

Day 3 - Daily Happening

The above pictures are from right after our walk in the palk. It was a little chilly and windy so Ava wore her new jacket.

Another very nice day here at the Rogers' house. Ava woke up at about 7:30 (do we see a pattern of it getting earlier each day). She also woke up at 6:00, but I refused to get her out of bed and she went back to sleep. We piddled around the house doing a little light picking up and then I fixed up Ava's "play corner" in our parlor. We have just been at a loss for what to do in the parlor and it is just wasted space right now. So I decided I wanted to turn the room into a sort of playroom for Ava. Since all our bedrooms are upstairs, I figured this would be a perfect place for her to play, cause let's face it. It will be many moons before Ava can go upstairs and play by herself. It's not like she doesn't have half her toys down her already and this way it will be a little more organized. I don't think Daddy is too keen on the idea, but it's better that the space is being used. So anyway, a few months ago, Stacy and I went yard sale-ing (no such word really) and we found this little kitchenette for a steal. She convinced me to buy it and this morning I bleached that baby and it looks like brand new! So adorable. Bradley brought down the toy box that Aunt Bethany got Ava and I brought down a huge basket for all her books and then over the course of the day, we got it arranged. I had even bought some Disney Princess stickers to hang on the wall (which Bradley thinks looks trashy, but I think makes it more of a little play atmosphere). I haven't hung them all up because I was waiting to see if Bradley was going to hang me when he saw them. But hey, it was either the princesses or Dora. And while Ava likes and knows Dora more than the princesses, I am sorry but as mommy, I just overrule and I voted for princesses. Hey everybody loves those gorgeous gals and their killer dresses!

Anyway, when I brought her into the room, I wish I had a camera. I swear she did a little gasp and ran right over and started kissing the princesses. It was too cute!

Other than that, we walked at the park again, had a nice lunch together, and then took a nap. If you were one of the people calling, sorry but my baby was asleep on my chest and we were just enjoying resting too much to answer the phone! Call back tomorrow please! ;)

Tonight we watched the new show, Pushing Daisies. Totally cute and I swear it is narrated by the guy who does the Walgreen's "perfect" commercials. Definitely not what I expected, but cute to say the least. Right now Ava is watching the playoffs with Daddy (gotta love World Series time) and about to be put in bed. I am looking forward to cruising Kori's pics again, so good I can't stand it and I need some input people! Anyway, here's my daily pics. Gotta love my girl!

Stay tuned until tomorrow when I post pics of our Halloween decorations. Spooky!

As promised...

Here is something fun. Ava has two new words, Apple and Backpack. Here she is saying them:

Video 1 - Apple

Video 2 - Backpack (from Dora the Explorer)

Fall Break - Daily Something

Day 2 of Fall Break -

Ava woke up at about 7:45 this morning and she was not a happy camper. I knew that didn't bode well for the day ahead. She was very whiny and clingy and when we went for our daily walk, she was not content to just stroll, but wanted to be held. After our walk, I showered and got ready and we ate lunch. Then we headed downtown to pay the electric bill, stop by the library, and pick up Ava's diaper bag (and it is too cute, I will post a pic tomorrow). Ava was so tired that she fell asleep in the 1 minute it takes to get from our house to downtown. She even stayed asleep when I got her out of the car and carried her into the house. I just lay down on the couch with her and we both took a little nap.

Then as luck would have it, I checked my e-mail and Ava's proofs had arrived! (See previous post) I could barely tear myself away from them and of course called people to let them know they had arrived and were fantastic! This evening was pretty laid back, ate dinner, watched some TV (why is Wayne Newton still on Dancing with the Stars?) and then bath time and bed.

I promised to post some daily somethings while on break and here are a few. They weren't from today, but rather from Saturday, but check back tomorrow for some goodies from today and pics of Halloween here at our house! See ya soon!
Almost, but not quite!

Love how she is propping herself up in this one. Almost ready for a senior picture moment...
How she is reading lately and her rear is not touching the ground, just hovering. Strong leg muscles!

She wants outside too!
Some lady looked at Ava today and said, "Well, her eyes are almost brown aren't they?" Huh?
