Ava's 2nd Thanksgiving

Ava was able to enjoy this Thanksgiving much more than last year when she was just a tiny little one. This year she dug into her food and ate so many lima beans. She had never had limas before and she ate 2 servings! She also enjoyed turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and green beans. I know from the pictures she has a lot on her plate and she maybe ate 1/4 of it and then add some lima beans on top of that. She was so stuffed with limas that she didn't want desert. She also napped only about 5 minutes all day so she was quite the Little Miss Sunshine.

This morning, Bethany and I hit the mall at 6 and then shopped at Wal-Mart. They were crowded, but not overwhelmingly so. Those who know me know that I won't wait in line very long even for a good deal, but the waits were pretty short and I was pleased with the gifts that I purchased. I even got to mark 3 people off my list! If I could just get the rest done...

Tomorrow we are headed up to KY to visit with my family and have Thanksgiving at Nanny and Poppy's. I have been baking today and getting ready. We have also put up 1 of our 2 Christmas trees and it looks beautiful. I will post pics of decorations next week. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and a lovely Black Friday. Have a great weekend!

She's laughing at Pop tickling her in these pictures.

Happy Thanksgiving

Just wanted to hop on the blog and give everyone warm wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving. We spent our day today getting Ava's portraits made at Wal-Mart, turned out pretty good, doing a little shopping, and preparing for tomorrow's Thanksgiving Day feast. I made a recipe I found in Rachael Ray's magazine and I have prepared a wonderful smelling, and I hope wonderful tasting, Pecan Praline Pumpkin Cake. Looks wonderful and I can't wait to dig in! Stores at the mall, Wal-Mart, and the grocery were all pretty crowded today. I'm gearing up for that Black Friday sale and hoping for some good deals. Anyway, just wanted to wish everyone a great Thanksgiving and I will be posting tomorrow Turkey Day pictures as soon as I get the chance. Lots of love from all of us!

Sleepy Girl

Thanks to Ava's Nana for the wonderful comment that you left. We have definitely missed having you here! Although, I think Ava has now developed a penchant for sleeping in now. This morning she let Bradley sleep until 9:45. We went from having a girl up at 7 on the nose, to having her sleep so late that I got check on her to see if she's okay. In the past we haven't set our alarms on the weekend for church because she is always up so early. Last Sunday when I woke up at 9:45 I couldn't believe it. First of all because I never sleep that late and secondly because Ava defintely doesn't! Oh the changes that happen when you are least expecting it!

What Ava's up to this week:
  • sleeping in!

  • Cutting two molars on bottom and possibly the eye teeth on top.

  • Being so sweet, but into every Christmas decoration she can get her hands on!

New words:

  • "Owside" - Outside

  • Bear

  • "Aci" - stands for Paci just without the 'p.' You say it and see what you get! ;) She walks around saying it constantly!

These photos come courtesy of Ava's Nana who took them while she was napping the other day. How adorable!

She's Definitely my Daughter...

because she is a spaghetti fiend. Well, okay, she loves carbs in general. On Friday night I made homemade spaghetti and Ava just loved it. She loves picking up the noodles, sucking them up through her lips, and basically making a mess. She is adorable eating it though that I forgive her for all that clean-up time!

Crazy Haired Girl

Here are some funny pictures of Ava after waking up from a nap. Man, am I going to have so much blackmail material when she gets older...
