Update

Just wanted to update everyone on what has happened here. We made it home yesterday at about 3:45. Ava had been sick with stomach issues for the past 2 nights which had turned into a cough and fever like Bradley and I have been fighting. She was acting fine other than a cough and the low grade fever but as we got her ready for bed last night she began to throw up again. We decided that after 3 nights of vomiting we needed something done so we went to the ER. 6 and 1/2 hours later and lots of tests they found nothing but a viral infection, suggested some OTC medicine, and said to go see her regular dr today.

So Ava is asleep after having taken the medicine they suggested. The dr's office has called to check on her but we are not planning on taking her because as they said, there is nothing they can do for her. We are just waiting it out and dosing her with liquids. Just remember us.

Thanks to all for your wonderful comments while we were on vacation. I have tons to post, but it will have to wait until we are unpacked and I either load the million pictures onto this computer or hook up my laptop here. Either way, there are still lots of things to post from our trip! Thanks so much for checking in.

Day 4 - Disney Hollywood Studios - Part 1

Day 5 – Disney’s Hollywood Studios

This has typically been my favorite park because it seems to be less crowded and have more characters you can meet. When we arrived we started heading to the Pixar area because we wanted to get a Fast Pass to the new Toy Story ride. On our way there we ran into Handy Manny and 2 of the Little Einsteins so we stopped to meet them. Of course Ava loves her “Heinsteins.”

Unfortunately when we got back to the Toy Story ride there was an 80 minute wait and all of the Fast Passes were gone for the day! We were really hoping to ride it, but not after waiting in a line like that! So we opted instead to meet Buzz (again) and Woody. Ava had been asking to meet Woody so we were happy she was able to.

We walked around the park and had our pictures taken with Cars and watched Muppet Vision 3D which Ava did not really enjoy. Then we went on what I had been waiting for, The Great Movie Ride. That ride takes you through various movie scenes including Wizard of Oz. There are some very scary parts in it, but Ava did fine. I did cover her eyes through a few things in the Alien scene, but other than that, she was fine. She absolutely loved the Wizard of Oz stuff, but was a little concerned when the witch appeared. When we were done she declared the ride as “scary.”

We got a fantastic seat to watch the parade which is actually a block party with the characters from different Pixar films. While I enjoyed it, I definitely miss the parades of just floats or cars like they previously had. But Ava enjoyed it and one of the cast members got her out of the stroller to dance which she enjoyed. He even gave her a little ball at the end of the dance party. Her favorite moment of the parade though was seeing Boo from Monsters Inc. She went crazy for that. Ava with Handy Manny (one of her favorite cartoons)

Day 4 - Magic Kingdom

Day 4 – Magic Kingdom

We had a great day at the Magic Kingdom and were able to do almost everything we wanted to get done. We arrived at a little before noon because we had reservations at Tony’s (the Italian restaurant from Lady and the Tramp). When we got there we could tell that it was nowhere near as crowded as Monday had been. There were a lot of people, but it wasn’t overly crowded.

Right when we walked in we saw Daisy Duck and got in line. It seems like every time we see Donald Ava wants to know where Daisy is and a cast member told us she is hard to find. But we found her and got pictures with her.

Lunch at Tony’s was good, but this has been the only restaurant so far where I felt the service was very slow and just not up to par with other places. We all enjoy spaghetti and meatballs just like in the movie Lady and the Tramp.

After lunch we headed over to meet Pinocchio and then Ava wanted to ride the train. We rode to Toon Town and got off to check out the lines at the Disney Fairy tent. Another 90 minute wait to see the Disney Fairies. We refuse to wait that long so we skipped that area and went to Tomorrowland. We stayed there for quite a while and rode the Carousel of Progress, the Transit Authority (which Ava did not like), and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (which Ava also did not like). We got to meet Buzz Lightyear (and Ava wanted to know where Woody was) and Stitch (Ava kept saying “Who’s that?” because none of us have seen the movie. By the end of our time here Ava wanted back in her stroller so you know she was pooped.

But with the promise of seeing Peter Pan she perked up. We headed to Adventureland and got in line for Captain Hook. Ava kept saying, “Where’s Mr. Smee?” And Hook was nice to her and even let her touch his hook. Then we got to see Peter Pan and the grin on Ava’s face was priceless. She was smitten! What trip to Adventureland is complete without a stop on Pirates of the Caribbean? Which Ava declared was scary. What is it about boat rides? Are they all scary? We also watched The Tiki Room and took a jungle boat cruise.

We were able to catch Mickey’s Dance Party and that was fun to sing and dance to. Ava was tickled because it meant getting to see Woody and Sebastian. She also liked Lumiere. We got out and danced a little, but Ava is still too little to get the gist of what was going on. She liked the music though and waving her hands and clapping.

One of my favorite places to eat is Pecos Bill’s so we enjoyed a quick dinner there before finishing our time up at the Magic Kingdom. We actually made it out before the huge crowd did. Two great days in a row!

By the time we got home to our resort Ava was passed out. She did wake up for a brief minute to see what our housekeeper had left us, smiled, and fell back asleep.

Ava has become quite the ice cream cone fiend. And she doesn't like to share!
