Scenes from a Wednesday

A busy day here at our house.

October 15th - A Day in Which:
  • The phone woke us up at 8:00 (thanks Pop!)

  • I wanted to lay in bed, but Ava insisted on milk.

  • Ava told me she had to potty, but no luck.

  • While in the kitchen, I hear Ava saying, "Say Click," while watching Diego.

  • I found Ava sitting at her picnic table reading her books while I was getting ready to go to town.

  • Stopped at the post office to mail some books, stopped by WW to get another food book, and then headed to Wal-Mart for groceries.

  • Ava was in an "I want it!" mode at Wal-Mart.

  • When we walked through the movie aisle, Ava spotted Sleeping Beauty and started saying, "I want tootie!"

  • While putting up groceries, Ava helped take everything out of bags.

  • After I put up stuff, Ava took it back out and scattered it all over the floor. The she said, "On no! What a mess!"

  • I tried to get Ava to sleep in her napper, but no luck. So we cleaned up in anticipation of the bug man coming to spray the house at 4.

  • After the bug man left, Ava and I both fell asleep on the couch.

  • Daddy came home and we all ate supper together. We had roast, potatoes, carrots, and peas.

  • After supper, watched Amazing Race.

  • While Ava was taking a bath, Jenna called and talked to Ava for a couple of minutes.

  • Daddy read The Runaway Bunny to Ava and then she went to bed.

  • Watched some of the debate.
  • Bradley and I watched Desperate Housewives.

  • I worked on some scrapbooking and a project that I am getting ready to start.

  • Bedtime around midnight.

She was mad because I made her let me take this picture. If you look closely, you can see that she has drawn a blue crayon mustache on her face.
Paisley's eyes are pleading for help.

New movie and new shoes.

If I tell Ava to make a funny face, this is what I get.

Scenes from a Tuesday

Scenes from a Tuesday at the Rogers' household.
On the 14th of October:
  • Ava up at 8:30. She woke me up by standing at the gate to her room and talking to me until I woke up.

  • Day 1 of my Weight Watchers

  • The oatmeal fight was a little less of a fight.

  • We spent part of the morning recording off our home movies onto DVD. We spent a little time watching Christmas 2007.
  • I told Ava to put on shoes so we could go outside. She came back in ballet slippers.

  • We went outside to play on Ava's tricycle. I was trying to teach her how to peddle and she started yelling "No!" at me so we went back inside (to the sounds of crying).

  • Jenna's mom called and they came over to play. We rode tricycles and played with sidewalk chalk.

  • For lunch we had soup, carrots, and toast. Ava ate so many carrots that I was afraid she would turn orange.

  • Ava and I both took a nap. Her in the playpen and me on the couch.

  • Snack time - Cookies and fruit chews for Ava. Grapes for me.

  • I had a horrible headache so I wasn't as productive in the afternoon/evening as I wanted to be.
  • Clipped Ava's fingernails.

  • Ava ate a good supper and even used the spoon herself a little. (She is a lazy eater.)

  • As we were cleaning up the kitchen Ava wanted to help with dishes. She just made more work for me because she kept taking dishes out of the drain rack and putting them back in the sink.

  • Bradley brought home salads from Sonic for us. We watched Samantha, Who? while eating.

  • Bedtime for Ava. We read several books before going to bed.

  • I stayed up scrapbooking and watching Beauty and the Beast- Season 1 (the one with Linda Hamilton in it)

  • Went to bed well after midnight.Ava's ballet shoes. (the roses have come off)

As all kids do, Ava was more fascinated with Jenna's bike than her own.

My favorite song on Noggin - "I Don't Like Candy Corn!" (even though I do...)

All the junk Ava and I have piled on the couch throughout the day.

My desk in the craft room.

Scenes from a Monday

I am participating in Ali Edwards's A Week in the Life and she did a challenge a couple of weeks ago to carry your camera around and document a week in your life. I tried to do it a couple of weeks ago, but things were to crazy and I didn't finish a whole week. Since this is Fall Break, I decided to try again to document this week as a memento for Ava and I to both remember. So today I took photos of different things throughout the day and journaled what happened to do. I warn you that these are not the most exciting things on the planet, but do reflect our daily life and how day to day living was in this particular day in October.

October 13th, A Day in Which:

  • Ava and I got up at 8:45 a.m.

  • Ava was wearing her pajamas that say, "When I grow up, I want to be a fairy princess."

  • We took 3 trips to the potty with no success

  • For breakfast, I ate a leftover sausage biscuit and a little gravy and Ava had oatmeal.

  • Ava watched "Go, Diego, Go," and was really participating with all the gestures and answering questions.

  • Ava made her first smart alek (sp?) reply to me. When I asked her to take a bite of her oatmeal, she pointed at me and said, "No, you take a bite Mommy!" What a fight over oatmeal!

  • We worked on cleaning out the mudroom/scraproom.

  • For several minutes we sat in the kitchen and watched a squirrel climb along our fence.

  • Ava asked to go to the potty, but no dice.

  • We watched Monsters, Inc. on the Disney Channel.

  • I caught Ava behind her play kitchen where she proudly announced, "I'm pooping Mommy!"

  • We used the Halloween cookie cutters to make a peanut butter sandwich for Ava.

  • At 2:00 I took Ava to Nana and Pop's.

  • I continued cleaning and watching Entourage while waiting for Stacy to come over.

  • Stacy and I went to Las Lomas to eat and shovel in the food before joining Weight Watchers.

  • We dropped off a wedding portrait for a client and then headed to Wal-Mart to hunt down thread for Anne. (Didn't find it there or the fabric store)

  • Weighed in at Weight Watchers

  • Picked Ava up from Nana and Pop's

  • Met Dad here at home and watched Backyardigans.

  • Ava - bath time and bed.
  • Me - searching for some Old Fashioned Halloween Games - Bradley - Rolling CoinsSo, I ate the fatty stuff and made Ava eat the yucky stuff. but I had to get it in before WW!
Poor baby's nose is hurting from all the snottiness.
We have two of these pumpkins and they are treated like people.

Sometime when I see this skeleton on the door, I get startled because I think someone is there.

It's amazing that you can cut a shape into a sandwich and a nonsandwich eater will become a sandwich eater.

The map of campaigning. This belongs to Daddy.
My packaged portrait.
She knew the flash was on.

Yeah, I know it is a gross picture, but if I post it on here, it is incentive to keep going to WW.
She was said because she had just hit her head 2 times. On the same thing...

My WW stuff... we'll see...
