Scoville Zoo - Part 1

While up in Decatur we planned on taking Ava to the children's museum. It was just too hot to get out and go to the zoo. However, once we headed to the zoo it was only 80 degrees and a little overcast so we decided to try it out instead. It was a great "small town" zoo. There weren't a lot of animals to see or even a lot of walking, but it was nice in a small town kind of way. Ava enjoyed it and she loved seeing the animals and riding the train and carousel. So it was a hit and even though it got hotter as we were there, it was a nice little visit.

This was the first animal we saw. Look at Ava's face as she sees it...

These goats were crazy mad for food. I was almost mauled. They were kind of scary.

Bradley and Harrison were smart to stay on the outside.

Visting Family - Decatur Trip - Part 2

Our trip to Decatur was to visit family on Bradley's mom's side of the family. We started with a visit to her aunt's house (Ava and Harrison's great-great aunt) and then went out to dinner with a bunch of family that lived in the area.

These pics are of us visting with Aunt Helen and then getting ready to go to the zoo the next day.

On the Road - Family Trip to Decatur, IL

This past weekend we were lucky enough to get to travel with Nana and Pop to Decatur, Illinois to visit some of Nana's relatives. In true Rogers' fashion we were all set to leave at 12:00 noon and then we left at 3:30. In true Harrison fashion, there was a lot of tears because he hates to ride in a car. In true Ava fashion, she talked 90 miles an hour and watched The Princess and the Frog multiple times. We ended up arriving around 11:30 that night and of course, Harrison had slept in the car so he didn't want to sleep in the hotel room. And someone needs to tell Country Inn and Suites that a playpen does not constitute as a crib for a baby. It is after all a playpen and they know the difference.

I refused to let Harrison sleep before we got in the car, but since we were 3 and 1/2 hours later than expected, he finally passed out.

It's Good to Be King

Harrison, Ava, and I met up with one of Ava's friends for a little play date at Burger King. The kids had fun playing on the little (and I mean little!) slide. Harrison enjoyed an Icee (food fiend!) and it was a nice afternoon. An afternoon that ended in a spilled Icee (by Ava) and a small meltdown (also by Ava) when it was time to leave. Ahh, nice fun!

Gotta love drugged up looking baby pics!
