Harrison's Turtle Poem

Harrison has learned so much in Mrs. Jeannie's preschool program. It has been so fun seeing him come home singing songs and reciting poems. Unfortunately, due to sickness, he wasn't able to attend the graduation program (which isn't a huge deal because he will still be there next year). However, I was hoping to get him performing on tape. And I also wanted to see him in that adorable graduation hat. :)

But alas, you will have to settle with this recitation of "I had a tiny turtle." :)

Prayers

Just a couple of videos of my kiddos praying before dinner. So blessed that Harrison has a daycare provider who is a Christian. So sweet to hear these prayers. :)

Harrison saying "The Pledge of Allegience"

Here is a video of Harrison saying The Pledge of Allegiance. This is something new that he has learned while at Ms. Jeannie's. So blessed to get to capture this.

Harrison - The Fickle Love

Harrison loves to talk into my camera if he can see himself. Here he is telling me who all he loves (not me apparently) ;). Of course, Ava is true "News Six" fashion has a small camera bomb. :)

Funny Little Boy!

Ava's Sixth Birthday Slideshow

I completely forgot to post Ava's 6th birthday slideshow. :) I threw this together in under an hour so it is not up to par with the usual, but great memories nonetheless. :)

Ava Reading Her Homework

Ava just amazes me with her reading skills. :) Here is a video of her reading. Not too exciting, but it is our life. :)

Scooby, Dooby-Doo, Where Are You?

Over the past couple of weeks, the kids have gotten hooked on Scooby Doo. We have recorded tons of them onto our DVR and they watch them over and over again. I love the way that Ava acts like she is seeing the mystery for the first time and has it figured out. I am just glad that something I loved to watch when I was younger is something that I can share with my kids.

So here is Harrison singing the song to Scooby Doo. He usually does much better, but he is camera shy lately when it comes to video.

As an added bonus, here is Harrison talking about a hyena (aka CHI-NINA). :)

Sweet Talking

Over the past week, I have spent some time playing with my new phone and figuring out all the stuff I can do with it. I am excited because it takes pretty good video and then I can upload it directly to youtube. Harrison likes for me to take his picture and I even got him to let me take a video. So here he is doing his animal sounds and my favorite, "What do Mommies say?" That is answered with a sweet little "I love you" (even though you may have a hard time deciphering that, I can sooo tell what he is saying).

So please excuse the jumpiness of the handheld video, the grossness of Harrison's sticky face, and how annoying I sound on tape! Harrison likes to watch himself on camera. :)

Ava's 5th Birthday Slideshow

Here is the annual slideshow for Ava's 5th birthday. :)

The last song is my favorite this year. I guess the lyrics just really touched me and the way I hope Ava feels about me.

The Best Day
by: Taylor Swift

I'm five years old, it's getting cold, I've got my big coat on
I hear your laugh and look up smiling at you, I run and run
Past the pumpkin patch and the tractor rides, look now, the sky is gold
I hug your legs and fall asleep on the way home

I don't know why all the trees change in the fall
But I know you're not scared of anything at all
Don't know if Snow White's house is near or far away
But I know I had the best day with you today

I'm thirteen now and don't know how my friends could be so mean
I come home crying and you hold me tight and grab the keys
And we drive and drive until we found a town far enough away
And we talk and window shop 'til I've forgotten all their names

I don't know who I'm gonna talk to now at school
But I know I'm laughing on the car ride home with you
Don't know how long it's gonna take to feel okay
[. From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/t/taylor-swift-lyrics/the-best-day-lyrics.html .]
But I know I had the best day with you today

I have an excellent father, his strength is making me stronger
God smiles on my little brother, inside and out, he's better than I am
I grew up in a pretty house and I had space to run
And I had the best days with you

There is a video I found from back when I was three
You set up a paint set in the kitchen and you're talking to me
It's the age of princesses and pirate ships and the seven dwarfs
And Daddy's smart and you're the prettiest lady in the whole wide world

And now I know why the all the trees change in the fall
I know you were on my side even when I was wrong
And I love you for giving me your eyes
For staying back and watching me shine
And I didn't know if you knew, so I'm takin' this chance to say
That I had the best day with you today

Harrison Eating Pudding

Here is a nice little video that showcases Harrison being messy with his pudding. You can clearly see why sometimes he doesn't get pudding unless it is bath night (which for Harrison is most nights!).

"No, David!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Remember this post? Well, it is still a favorite read, only now, Ava knows most of the words and likes to read it out loud to us! The end is one of my favorite parts! Love her!

Harrison's First Haircut

After putting it off for several months, yesterday was the day...Harrison's first haircut. After waiting about an hour, it was finally his turn and the hysterics started the minute he sat in the chair and they didn't end until long after we left the building. Little man wanted no part of the haircut experience. But we were able to get it done and he looks like a new little man. He definitely looks even less like a baby now. :( Where is time going?

I think he is totally cussing the barber here!
So handsome!

And here is the soundtrack to go along with those visuals!

Video- Ava practicing for the Christmas program

I found this little jewel hidden on the camera and I had forgotten all about it. I love stumbling across these little things that bring a smile to my face. This is Ava practicing her song for the preschool Christmas program. So funny and hard to believe how different she looks with her hair cut a little shorter.

It's Good to Be King

Harrison, Ava, and I met up with one of Ava's friends for a little play date at Burger King. The kids had fun playing on the little (and I mean little!) slide. Harrison enjoyed an Icee (food fiend!) and it was a nice afternoon. An afternoon that ended in a spilled Icee (by Ava) and a small meltdown (also by Ava) when it was time to leave. Ahh, nice fun!

Gotta love drugged up looking baby pics!
