Snow Days, Snow Days, those are happy school days!

I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE,LOVE snow days! It is even okay when there isn't really any snow. I guess we could call them ice days? I was so shocked yesterday morning when I got the call that school was cancelled. Unexpected day off due to some icing on roads and slick spots. Cool, I can handle a day off and get some stuff done (not that I ever get much done!). But the kicker was this morning when I got the call at 6:10 after already showering, checking the weather outside and being slightly disappointed that all was well outside. (Yeah, I know, teachers and kids are the only ones who love, love, love those kinds of days.) I couldn't believe my ears! No school on a day like today. Maybe there was bad weather elsewhere in the county because it is a large area, but still! YIPEE! Snow day round 2 to make a 4 day weekend to boot!

So in honor of our snow day yesterday, I got the camera out to capture some Ava pics and some playdate pics. Ava had her 3rd playdate with Ms. Jenna and they had such a great time. They are cute together most of the time, but they do fuss and fight a little bit during each playdate! Girls!
Here is Ava with Paisley cornered.

Proof that Ava hates blankets. When I layed them over her while she was laying down in her playpen, she stood up and threw them in the floor. Not my child!

And how cute are these two playing together! Ava was trying to make Jenna drink some juice in the one above.

I love these 2 pictures. It was like they were playing seesaw with an imaginary teeter totter!

Trayton's First Birthday

Saturday was spent in KY celebrating Trayton's 1st birthday. Ava had such a ball playing with her cousin and trying to bully him around. It was nice to see family and get to spend some time hanging out with them. Trayton did much better than Ava did as far as the cake goes. He just dug right in and enjoyed it! He was so cute opening his presents and making a mess with the cake!

Bradley and I also went to the hospital to see my Poppy who is recovering from a collapsed lung. {You better be getting better, Poppy, because we will be visiting again in 2 weeks and you had better be home!}

Thanks to all of you who have commented on my pictures. I had so much fun taking them and look forward to practicing on more people when the weather gets better! I have a few more ready and I will post them in the next day or two. {Nick, I am glad you like the ones so far!}

Presenting Gabriel

On Saturday, I had the priviledge of taking my nephew's photos. This is the first time that I have taken anyone's pictures besides Ava. I have just started editing them and thought I would give a sneak peek. Let me know what you think!

A Tale of Embarrassment

Saturday morning started out really well with Ava just playing in her bed and being so sweet. We were headed up to Kentucky for Trayton's birthday and to meet Gabriel. On the road between here and Union City, Ava was just fussy and yelling. Bradley even told her if she didn't stop we were heading back home. She eventually fell asleep and was in a better mood when we got there. That was until Trayton opened his birthday card from us that played The Backyardigans theme song. Ava just thought that was hers and had a fit for it. She stole it several times and threw a squealing fit when we took it away. When she is made she squeals a high-pitched squeal, cries, and beats her head on things. She was just fussy and a mess.

Fast forward to our trip home where we stopped at a Cracker Barrel to eat supper. It seemed to be taking forever for our food, Ava was beyond hungry, and coloring with crayons when the trouble began. Before long, everyone in the restaurant was looking at us as Ava squealed, cried, and then slammed her head down into the table. I was beyond mortified. Her food finally arrived and after a few minutes, she was finished and trouble began again. She wanted out of her highchair and proceeded to stick her hands in her food and wipe them on me while squealing. People were staring and I went to grab her face and get her attention so I could tell her to stop. Only later did I find out that Bradley said it looked like I was trying to choke her!

Back in the car there was no sleep for the rest of the way home. She cried and fussed and carried on while beating her head on her car seat and trying to rock her body out of it. The last 10 miles or so were the worse because when she would squeal, I would swat her leg. She got so worked up that she started trying to make herself gag and throw up! Absolutely miserable. We finally got home and her tail went straight to bed. Never have I been so embarrassed by her in all these 17 and a half months!

Anyway, I will be posting pics of Trayton's birthday and working on editing pictures from my first photo shoot of Gabriel. So be on the lookout. You can also check my other blog for some Photos of the Day at www. tiffanyfreemanrogers.blogspot.com . Have a great week and here are a couple of photos from Ava that show her wonderful squealing!
