Why I blog...

I started this blog so that we could keep in touch with family and friends and so that people could see pictures of Ava as she is growing. I love blogging and I love sharing pictures of Ava, but it is a time-consuming thing to do. When I have the extra time (usually after Ava has gone to bed), I try to blog a couple of times a week, but with school being out I have had extra time to do it. I know several people who read the blog frequently to see what's happening and then there are some that just check in occasionally.
However, I see we have had over 2,200 visitors to our site now. So I know lots of people are checking in. Just do me a favor. When you stop by to see us, leave a comment every now and then. I do print this stuff off to keep copies for Ava, so just drop a little note every now and then, just to let the Rogers' Family know that you appreciate our little blog we have here.
It is super easy, just click on Comments at the bottom of the post. You do not have to have a registered account. Just use the Anonymous button and then type your name at the end of the comment. I'm npt trying to beg for comments, but it would just be nice to see what ya'll have to say every once in a while. Thanks!
And here's some eye candy for you. My favorite pics over the last few months.

Ava, AKA The Ice Cream Fiend

We have discovered that Ava loves ice cream. She is a fiend for it. In fact today, I walked into Joe and Anne's with a Sonic cup and she was all over me ready for some ice cream. Strawberry milkshakes are her favorite, but she'll eat pretty much any kind. Here are some pics of her going crazy over a Banana Split.

Bradley's First Father's Day

On Sunday, we celebrated Bradley's first Father's Day. We started the day off at church where they had the fathers stand up and everyone clapped. Ava clapped too after everyone else was done. It was really cute. Aunt Bethany took us and Pop (Joe) out to eat at Mom's Buffet (where Ava enjoyed some mashed potatoes and green beans from the buffet). We came back to our house and Bradley opened his gift. Ava got him a new BB gun since his old one has seen better days. My dad says it's time to hang Ole Betsy on the wall rather than use her, but we'll see. After that we all enjoyed a little nap and then headed over to Nana and Pop's. They cooked a wonderful supper and we enjoyed watching Veggies with Ava and eating Banana Splits. I will post the photos of Ava eating her ice cream later. So basically we had a very relaxing day and I personally want to thank Bradley for the wonderful father that he is to Ava. Thank you Bradley!

She pointed at this card and said, "Baby."

Save the Date

Announcing Ava's 1st Birthday Party. It will be August 11th, 2007 here at our house. Of course I will be sending out invitations later, but you better plan on attending.

Also friends and family are invited to attend Ava's Infant Baptism on August 12th, 2007. It will be at the First United Methodist Church here in town and I will include an insert in her party invitation for any who are interested in coming. They will do a baptismal service for her and it is really beautiful, I hope any that come will attend.

I will posting Father's Day pics later tonight or tomorrow so be on the lookout!

KY Visit

As you all know, this past weekend, we took a trip up to KY to visit my parents and family. Ava was a very good girl, despite a rousing bout of screaming (aka: just being noisy and wanting attention) at the Majestic House. She loved meeting Trayton and even said, "Baby" for the first time. They were so cute together. Ava is in a kissing/head-butting stage and Trayton just kept reaching out for her. It was just precious! So her are some highlights from the trip.

Not really sure what she's doing...

Photoshoot Disaster

So I tried to get Ava to let me take a couple of good pictures of her. I was really hoping to get a good one of her in her Cardinals outfit for Bradley for Father's Day. As I said before, she is in a stage where she doesn't really like having her pictures taken. A smile is a rare thing when the camera is out! She can be doing something totally cute and the minute you take the camera out, it is all over. So here are some beauties from Friday's photo shoot.

If you are wondering what she is doing with her tongue in the first picture, she is making funny sounds and spitting everywhere!

These last 3 are from Friday evening as she was trying to climb the stairs (from which she subsequently fell).
