Oh wait, I do like green peas!

On Sunday night Ava tried green peas for the first time. As you can see, it was a rocky road at first, but now she inhales them! She is now eating a bowl of cereal and eating green peas at lunch and dinner. Hungry Girl!

SO here's what Ava was thinking that night: What are you doing putting this green stuff in my mouth?
Well, I may as well try it...

We finally have a new member in our family. Our nephew (and Ava's cousin) was born on Jan 18, 2007 a little after 4 in the afternoon. His name is Trayton Louis. He weighed in at over 7 Lbs. and was 18 inches long. He has a head full of dark hair. Congrats to the proud parents and we can't wait to meet him.

Ava the Model

I was so excited the other day when I went to Kori Burkhead's photography site and looked at her portfolio. She has a new website design and guess who appears, not once, but TWICE! That's right, our Ava.

For those of you who never saw Kori's photos, she is just fantastic. I think she has the best children's portraits that I have ever seen. I call them artwork, because that is exactly what they are.

4. It will take a couple of seconds to load the slideshow but Ava is number 11 and 15.

This week I got to spend extra time with Ava. Since Joe and Anne were on their cruise (or journey back home), I had to take two days off (Mon. was MLK Day so we were already off). Man did I get spoiled spending that extra time with my little one! We had such a good time. Ava loves playing and acting silly so we spent a lot of time doing those things. On Wed. though we had to go for the dreaded shots! We did better this time and at least I didn't cry. She had 3 again this time, but in March she will only have to get 2. So her updated stats are that she weighs 17 lbs. and 8 oz. and is 28 inches long. What a big girl! Our Dr. gave the green light to go ahead and start vegetables with her so this week we should have some interesting photo ops! Can't wait to see how she handles those! Yeah, she's not laughing because she loves her cereal, it's because her Daddy was acting silly with her rainforest toy!

Ava is growing so fast and just changing all the time. She is just so cute, but she also has a temper (which she gets from me, I'm sure!). This week my mom came down to watch Ava since Joe and Anne are out of town on a cruise. I know Ava had a great time and Bradley and I really appreciate her coming down.

Ava is rolling over a lot, in fact this morning when Bradley got her out of bed, she had rolled over onto her stomach. She also moves from the foot of the bed to the top of her bed almost every night! She loves playing in her jumper, watching Veggie Tales, and is finally starting to get the hang of the rice cereal.


Plus, today she turned 5 months old! I am sure we will have a little photo shoot in honor of that birthday and I will post those as soon as I can. Have a great weekend!

Happy Belated New Year

I have taken so many pictures that I have gotten behind on blogging and am just getting to the New Year's pictures. Bradley's B-day is on Dec. 31st so we through a New Year's Eve party every year to celebrate his birthday. The Bradley's Dad's B-day is on Jan. 1st so after midnight it's his birthday too.

This year we celebrated New Year's Eve for the 2nd year in our new house, and for the first year with Ava. Bradley turned 31, man is he getting old! LOL! We had a great time and no, Ava did not stay up for the New Year though she did wake up around 1!

In the picture below, you can see Ava with her Glow-Worm. This is one of her new faves. She gets so excited when it lights up and plays music, and then she tries to eat its face! It's hilarious!

We hope everyone is having a great New Year and honoring those resolutions!

Ava got to meet tons of new relatives at Mammaw's house. Bradley wanted to bring along her new Bumbo chair to sit in, but I told him I didn't think we would need it because she would be passed around so much. I was right! Santa came to see Ava at Grammy and Gramps house this year (and he also came to her TN house too). We had a great time with Ava opening gifts and seeing what Santa had brought!
