Football Homecoming

Ava and I attended the high school's Football Homecoming a few weeks ago. Ava was excited because her Cheerleading "Big Sister" was on the Homecoming court. Ava was even more excited when she was chosen Homecoming Queen. Here is a picture of Ava with her Big Sister, Katherine and one of her being silly while hanging out with the band.

The Pumpkin Patch

On the Thursday before Halloween we finally made it to the pumpkin patch. We usually go fairly early in the month of October, but talk about last minute this year! We have been so busy that I just couldn't squeeze it in. So I decided that if we were going to go, we had to do it one afternoon and there was pretty much only 2 days until Halloween. So after school we loaded up and Aunt Bethany even got to come with us.

Harrison took off and ventured from pallet to pallet of pumpkins, Ava wanted every pumpkin she saw, and no one really wanted to cooperate for pictures.

10 on Tuesday - +Halloween Wrap Up

1. Last Thursday we attended the Fall Festival at the high school. Ava's favorite thing, crawling through a tent searching for a rubber spider amid a bunch of trash. She played 3 times. Guess who found the spider.... Yours truly! I played, too! :)

Ava eating her cookie creation.

2. Last week Ava's school raised $14,000 for the PTO. Part of that money came from what they call the Funky Junky Funtober Sale. Ava and I made cookies to sell at the booth.

3. Pumpkin Carving is a big deal here! This year we carved the Harry Potter symbol, a Mickey Mouse, The Princess and the Frog, and a regular Jack O'Lantern. Too bad our Cheshire Cat from the Halloweenie Roast didn't last.

4. I made this to add to our holiday decor...

5. Harrison and Ava have both been sick and running fever. Today I actually took off work to stay home with them. I am hoping they are on the mend.

6. I have finished my first class in my Masters program and currently have a 4.0 GPA. So far in my 2nd class I have made A's on all assignments! :)

7. In less than 1 month, my baby will be 1!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it! His birthday party will be the weekend after Thanksgiving.

8. Ava is participating in this year's Little Choctaws cheerleading squad. Her first performance is November 23rd. I am anxious for that!
9. Ava will be singing in church for the first time this Sunday. She will be singing with other members of the church youth group for Youth Sunday.
10. That's all I have!

The Princess and the Frog

Ava and Harrison dressed up as The Princess and the Frog for Halloween this year. We had a very weird Halloween because Ava was not really feeling well and had been running a fever early in the day and complaining of a tummy ache when it was time to trick or treat. Needless to say, the photos definitely reflect that and I have very few to show for the night. Ava's friend Lindsey did join us for trick or treating, but unfortunately for us, there were so many trick or treaters that almost all the houses on our street had already given out all the candy by the time we got out. At our house we ended up with 302! That is a record for our house. Chalk that up to Dyersburg trick-or-treating on Sunday so they all headed our way for the Saturday night fun!

The kids were so cute that I wish I had more pictures!

Scarecrow Day

Last Friday was Scarecrow Day for the preschoolers and parents were invited to attend and help their child build a scarecrow. Ava was more interested in throwing hay than in building, but Daddy was on top of the scarecrow building! We ended up with a baby scarecrow that is dressed in some of Ava's baby clothes and whose head is too big for its hat!
